With Halloween fast approaching I’m in full on “find the perfect costume” mode. This is Fletchers first Halloween so obviously I am going to go all out. Now with that being said, I don’t want to be that dog mom that goes way overboard, but at the same time I want him to have a fun and cute costume! So I’ve been browsing the internet, checking out stores, and just gathering ideas. Now, lets just get this out there. I’m not really a dress your dog kinda person, so this is new for me. I love all the cute little sweaters and outfits- but Flech is a giant. So it makes it kinda difficult to dress a horse. So for me, I just stay away from the apparel section that way I’m not tempted. BUT, Halloween is a completely different story. It’s the time of year when everyone dresses crazy and goes all out. So we will for sure be participating in all the spooky festivities. Here’s our list of favorites this year- a dinosaur, a taco, and Superman. All really different, but really adorable in their own unique ways. If you and your pet are looking for great costumes, here are a few that we are loving. Something I love about these is that they are reasonably priced. Who wants to spend a load of money on a pet costume? Not me, so these cute and affordable costumes are right up my ally- and I think they’ll be right up yours too! Just a few things to keep in mind when you are planning to celebrate Halloween with your pup. 1. Make sure that you get the right size for your furry friend. Just like humans, things can be to tight or to loose for your pet. That makes it uncomfortable, so spend the extra time trying the costume on. You won’t regret it. 2. Make sure to take lots of fun pictures, this is a night you are not going to want to forget. 3. Make sure if you are going out with your pet into a populated area that he or she is on the leash. The same rules still apply. Just because our pets are dressed like kids, doesn’t mean they get to run crazy like the humans. 4. Last but not least- I know it’s tempting to give your dog human food, and maybe even candy. But this is the worst thing you could do for your pet. Don’t share your Halloween candy, just give them their own. There are plenty of Pet stores that will be making Halloween designed treats. Your pooch will surely love the taste! So have fun, check these costumes out and let us know which one is your favorite, there are plenty to choose from. Check back soon for some fun ideas on what you and your furry friend can do on the spookiest night of the year! Happy costume hunting! Also, if you have any ideas on homemade costumes, or even photos from previous Halloween holidays, feel free to share! We love new ideas.
