Since it’s Friday I wanted to share one of my favorite recipes for pups! It can also be for us humans, if you don’t mind a couple weird ingredients. I love a good smoothie. Mixed with all my favorite fruits and maybe even a few vitamins. Well, if your pup eats fruit chances are he’s going to love this recipe as well! I have Fletcher on a lot of vitamins and supplements to keep him healthy and aid with his allergies, so I even add those in there. Here it is;
The Dood Smoothie:
1 cup of frozen organic raspberries (depending on how much you want to make you can add less or more)
1 cup of frozen organic strawberries
1 large banana
1 slice of seedless watermelon
1 cup of goats milk (can be bought at most feed stores and is made specifically for dogs)
Extra: if your pup is on any pills, supplements, or oils these are great add ons. I add a spoonful of coconut oil, one fish oil pill, and a piece of broccoli and a couple carrots. Dogs are just like humans. They need nutrients as well, so why not mix it all together so you knock it all out of the way in one sitting? In my opinion it’s the best way to get it done.
Directions: add all ingredients into your blender and mix it on up. Pour in a bowl for your pooch or even let them drink it out of a cup. Don’t give them an abundance of this yummy drink if they aren’t used to eating fruit. Since fruit contains a lot of natural sugars, it could upset your pups tummy. So start out with just a little and see how it goes! Here in Texas our weather has been perfect for a nice smoothie. Not too hot, and not too cold; but just right! We hope you enjoy this little treat just as much as we did. If you would like to share this yummy frozen treat with your furry friend you can substitute the goats milk for another liquid; almond milk, soy milk, or even a yogurt! Good luck and let us know if you end up giving it a try.
Check back with The Golden Dood later on today for a special announcement. This is a very busy week/weekend for us and we can’t wait to share why! Happy Friday furry friends and owners.
